About Our 55+ Community Status
Stoneridge Landing operates as housing for older persons under the federal Housing for Older Persons Act (HOPA), which permits qualifying communities to restrict occupancy to residents 55 and older without violating the Fair Housing Act’s familial-status protections. This exemption applies only to familial status — it does not permit discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or disability, all of which remain fully protected at Stoneridge Landing.
